Evaluate

Your bill gets bigger as you exceed your allocated credits. Keeping track of your minutes, thus, helps you prevent having a huge monthly bill. If the damage is done and you are looking at four figures, review your statements. Review which type of service accumulated additional charges. Take a look at your contract if you have any and then evaluate your options.

Contact your carrier and ask them how they can help you. You do not have to negotiate right away. Tell them your concern and ask about the available options for lowering your bill. Some representatives are actually helpful.

Mobile phone billing is one of the big monthly budget, we need to limit it by smart ways. Before talk to some one, we need to get ready all the things what to talk.

And if we use basic phones we can use timers too alert after a particular minute of talk, if we in data plan, we need to choose right plan instead of going blindly using it. Cos I burnt a whole in my pocket w/o proper plan of data usage.

Yes, I agree it is like you have an outline on what to say, but sometimes we don’t avoid unplanned calls to friends and relatives, sometimes we call because we are bored and want to talk to someones and the talks get long and we became not aware of time consumed in the conversation.

Not only in calls, if we use internet sometimes we exceed from our budget plans and sadly we realize that we are paying to much for cellphone bills.

There are service provider which give reminders if you will exceed on your data plans. I don’t if all providers have this feature.

Yes, I suggest to avail the prepaid plans, by this plans, you can limit your calls and data usage, there’s also available call and plans for 1 day like unlimited call for 1 day with same provider and 1 day unlimited usage of internet for a cheaper cost if you’re not a call and internet addict but in case you are the person who always want online, I prepare to subscribe to monthly prepaid plans.

Haha that’s cool, but before in my school, cellphones are not allowed during exams, if the professor caught you, you’ll get the a failing grade for that exam. The worse is during final exam when one of my classmate was found cheating and automatically got a failing grade of 5.0

By ‘during exams’, I mean when we prepare for them at home Joseph. We are also not allowed to use cellphones in examination hall ๐Ÿ˜€

The best way to reduce your cell phone bill is through texting only when it is important. Avoid texting unnecessary messages to someone.

Maybe we can try to have a limit, example you have a budget of 10 texts per day, with that, you can limit your self and try to budget so that your budget for other will not be affected.

Well written article ๐Ÿ™‚ I do have a budget for my phone subscription. As much as possible I don’t want to exceed. Exceeding give me such a headache! However, it’s a good thing that the customer representative is nice enough to entertain me on my question about my phone bill.
