Google: Investing and Growing [Infographic]
Google is a household word; everyone has used the search engine behemoth at least once and many use the name as a synonym for internet searching. Such massive international popularity has inevitably led to one thing – lots and lots of cash on hand. But what does it do with those billions?
Some of Google’s biggest expenditures have gone towards other internet companies. While its completely bought out some, like Youtube, its also invested millions in others such as HomeAway and RetailMeNot.
Google has also challenged the biggest name in social networking, Facebook, with the arrival of Google+, and released a fully-integrated internet browser, Google Chrome, alongside a mobile platform, Android OS.
But it’s not just the internet Google’s part of. It’s also invested in clean energy, fiber optics, cars and space rockets piloted by robots and much more. What’s next? Well, with it’s army of government lobbyists, Google’s next step will probably be even bigger.
