Moto M Vs. LeEco Le 2 Pro: Which One Will Assist You Better?

There is a smartphone launched almost every day which can be hard for many to choose from. Most of the phones have a lot of similar features, which is understandable. Phone manufacturers have to keep up with the modern-day features and tech present in these phones. But, this confuses many customers as which one to choose. In this post, we have two phones from their respective Chinese companies – the Moto M and the LeEco Le 2 Pro. Both are great in their respective ways, but which one would you prefer is what we will find out in the following read.

Design and Display:

The LeEco Le 2 Pro features a metallic design including bezels on the edges. At the back, you get a fingerprint scanner. Le 2 Pro offers a USB Type-C port for ear buds instead of a 3.5 mm jack. Plus, it comes in silver, rose gold, and grey colour variants.  The device uses a 5.5-inch LCD display with 401 ppi pixel density sporting 1080×1920 pixels. Another great feature in its design is the CDLA technology, which helps deliver high-quality sounds when listening to them.

On the other hand, the Moto M is also having a full metallic body with fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the phone. The full metal body comes in gold, silver, and grey colours. Unlike the LeEco Le 2 Pro, this device offers a 3.5 mm jack as well. You also get Dolby Atmos sound enhancement system in the device for high-quality audio output. Looking at its screen, the device offers a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 401 ppi and 1080×1920 pixels.


LeEco Le 2 Pro boasts its performance aspects through a 2.3 GHz Quad-core Cortex A53 moto-mprocessor with a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset. You also get 4 GB of RAM with it to process faster without lags. Another model for the device is out there which offers a Deca-core Helio X25 SoC chip in it. GPU has been taken care of with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU processing chip.

While the Moto M comes in with a Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 chipset that is good for running high-end games and hi-resolution videos. The device also features an Octa-core chipset consisting of 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and 4×1.0 GHz Cortex-A53. GPU has been supported using an Adreno 405 graphics chipset.


LeEco Le 2 Pro includes Android v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS.  Besides, that the company offers its very own UI theme for the device which is called EUI (Ecosystem User Interface).

Moto M also features Android v6.0.1 (Marshmallow). You get standard UI interface as offered by Android smartphones with Moto apps and limited company-made features.

Camera and Storage:

LeEco Le 2 Pro boasts a 21 MP rear camera with LED flash for shooting high-resolution photos. The camera features face detection, touch to focus, digital zoom, auto flash, etc. Its front-facing camera is 8 MP. For storage, only 32 GB of internal memory is available on the device which cannot be expanded either.

On the other hand, Moto M features a 16 MP rear camera supported by phase detection autofocus and an f/2.0 aperture. You also get dual LED flash in it. The camera features available comprise of face detection, geo-tagging, touch focus, auto HDR, and panorama. The Moto M also offers an 8 MP front-facing camera. The sensor size in the front camera is ¼” which can shoot pictures with 1.12 µm pixel size. The phone offers video recording at 1080p@30 fps but no 4K. For storage, Moto offers a 32 GB and 64 GB variants. Moreover, you get an expandable slot of up to 256 GB as well. But, users will have to use the second SIM slot for expanding memory. Besides, the 32 GB model offers 3 GB of RAM and the 64 GB variant features 4 GB of RAM.

Battery and Connectivity:

LeEco Le 2 Pro features a 3,000 mAh li-polymer non-removable battery. For connectivity, users will get Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, USB Type-C, mobile hotspot, 2G, 3G, dual SIM slots, 4G on both slots, etc. You also get sensors namely, proximity, gyro, ambient light, and fingerprint sensor in it.

Moto M features a non-removable 3050 mAh battery in the device. Connectivity options include GPS with A-GPS, A2DP, Bluetooth v4.1, LE, BDS, GLONASS, USB On-The-Go, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Mobile hotspot, and USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. The list of sensors on the device are – gyro, compass, accelerometer, fingerprint, and proximity.

The Verdict:

Finding a good phone is pretty hard. You never know which important feature is left out in your purchased device that you always wanted. To avoid frustration later, such comparisons are made to help readers decide the best of devices. Looking at these two phones, we would suggest choosing Moto M which not only offers a Super AMOLED display, but also comes with expandable battery slot. But, if budget is your problem then you can go for the LeEco Le 2 Pro.
